What this chart shows
The chart below shows what nine core elements make when you combine them with 141 common elements. The core elements are the four you start with, Fire, Water, Earth and Wind, plus five you'll make early and use often: Volcano, Steam, Lava, Smoke and Engine. Every result in the chart was checked against this game.
How to read it
Each row starts with one of the 141 common elements, and each column is one of the nine core elements. Combine the row element with the column element, and the cell where they meet shows the result. For example, find the Plant row and follow it to the Engine column: the cell says Car, because Plant + Engine = Car. In the Sand row, the Fire column gives Glass and the Water column gives Beach.
The ten basic combinations
These ten pairs use only the four starting elements, so they're the first results you can make:
| First | Second | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Fire | Fire | Volcano |
| Fire | Water | Steam |
| Fire | Earth | Lava |
| Fire | Wind | Smoke |
| Water | Water | Lake |
| Water | Earth | Plant |
| Water | Wind | Wave |
| Earth | Earth | Mountain |
| Earth | Wind | Dust |
| Wind | Wind | Tornado |
Tips for using the chart
- Read down a column to see what one core element can do. The Engine column turns up a lot of vehicles: Car with Plant, Boat with Lake, Train with Steam, Submarine with Ocean and Jet with Cloud.
- Read across a row when you've just made something new. It shows what that element makes with each core element, all in one place.
- Use your browser's find feature (Ctrl+F, or Cmd+F on a Mac) to jump straight to the row you need.
- Follow results back into the chart. Many results have a row of their own, so you can keep going: Plant + Water = Swamp, and in the Swamp row, the Fire column gives Dragon.
